"The workbook cannot be opened" Error with SharePoint Server 2010 (and TFS 2010)

 

Cuando navego por un site de proyecto de TFS, y los web parts dicen:

The workbook cannot be opened.

Este error surge porque la cuenta de servicio para Excel Services no tiene acceso a la content database de Sharepoint.

Dos soluciones:

• cambiar la identidad de App Pool del IIS para Excel Services (no recomendada) con la misma cuenta del App Pool del web application (asociada a la base de contenido que no tiene acceso)
• dar permisos con un script de PowerShell

Utilidad para refrescar manualmente el WareHouse de TFS 2010

You’ll know you need to do that manual refresh when your TFS2010 reports start tossing off errors like “The Team System cube either does not exist or has not been processed” or “An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted) Query failed for dataset ‘dsIteration’.”  There are plenty of variations on that second error message depending on which dataset failed – dsPlatform, dsIterationDefault, dsIteration, dsLastProcessedTime, dsIterationParam, etc.  Usually these errors mean that the TFS Job Agent 1) hasn’t run yet or 2) ran but encountered an error.  The solution is a manual warehouse update.

TFS 2010 Stories Overview Report (Agile)

Este reporte es bueno para los Project managers. The Stories Overview report muestra gráficamente información general sobre los user stories  filtrada por área o iteración en un orden de importancia.

The Stories Overview report presents a snapshot of the work that has been performed for the filtered set of user stories to the current date.

Work Progress

• % Hours Completed: A numeric value and visual representation that shows the percentage of completed work based on the rollup of baseline and completed hours for all tasks that are linked to the user story or its child stories.

• Hours Remaining: A numeric value for the rollup of all remaining hours for all tasks that are linked to the user story or its child stories.

Test Status

• Test Points: A numeric value that represents the number of pairings of test cases with test configurations in a specific test suite. For more information about test points, see Reporting on Testing Progress for Test Plans.

• Test Results: A numeric value and visual representation that shows the percentage of test cases, grouped according to the status of their most recent test run, where the options are Passed (green), Failed (red), or Not Run (black).

• Bugs: A numeric value and visual representation that shows the number of bugs that are linked to the test case or user story, where the options are Active(blue) and Resolved (gold). If a user story is linked to one or more child stories, the values represent a rollup of all bugs for the user story and its child stories.

TFS 2010 mapear campos MS Project

Una de las características interesantes de TFS es suintegración con MS Project. Sin embargo siempre se me olvida la forma de actualizar la asignación de campos entreMS Project y TFS.

Así como un rápido recordatorio:
1. Descargue el archivo de mapping de campos de MS Project desde TFS:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE>tfsfieldmapping download /collection:”http://serverName:8080/tfs/collectionname” /teamproject:”teamprojectname” /mappingfile:”c:\fieldmapping.xml”

2. Actualice y guarde fieldmapping.xml

3. Suba el archivo de mapping de campos de MS Project al TFS
